Having achieved a position of growing excellence in the mechanical machining and manufacturing sector (DOSI Srl)—combined with internationally recognized expertise in machinery for plastic profile extrusion and the assembly of aluminum and PVC roller shutters (Baruffaldi Plastic Technology), as well as the processing of smooth and corrugated PE/PP/PVC pipes (Primac)—CEO Dr. Alberto Dosi decided to bring all three of his companies together in a facility spanning over 4,000 square meters of passion.

The Dosi Group boasts over 50 years of experience across various sectors; its origins are so noble and simple that they demonstrate the power of the determined and passionate pursuit of a dream.

“Dosi was founded in 1929 by my grandfather,” explains Alberto Dosi—a Bocconi graduate with a decade of experience at multinationals like Duracell. “It started as a blacksmith’s workshop and grew steadily over time. In the 1970s, under my father’s leadership, the company capitalized on the footwear industry boom—manufacturing machinery for production lines—though it later suffered the impact of the sector's subsequent crisis. Then came the market contraction, downsizing, and finally my decision to revitalize a company with such a rich heritage.”

Tracing the company’s evolution, the original firm—"Dosi Costruzioni Meccaniche S.r.l."—was expanded in 2008 through the acquisition of the historic Ferrara-based company "Baruffaldi," followed in late 2011 by the acquisition of the equally historic brand "Primac." The relocation of Baruffaldi to Fusignano—which involved expanding Dosi’s existing facility—marked the final step in the plant’s expansion and the completion of the Group’s integration.

Continuous innovation and technological research—made possible by the collaboration and exchange of ideas between production departments located in close proximity—are the direct result of this successful synergy. This journey embodies the age-old adage that there is strength in unity. However, physical proximity alone is not enough to keep this mechanism running smoothly; the collaboration of our team of technicians and operators—who drive the Group’s growth with professionalism, meticulousness, and care—is essential. Our operations are guided by strong, shared values that define our mission and identity. Fairness, transparency, respect, trust, and reciprocity are the values we uphold in our relationships with clients and suppliers. Our mission is to serve as a strategic partner for businesses and clients, helping to enhance their competitiveness.

This professional, determined, and innovative strategy stems from Dr. Dosi’s dynamic approach; he has instilled his own efficiency into the company’s processes, enabling the Group to successfully pursue the highest quality and production standards in the global market. Thanks to this, the Group’s products are now present in 40 countries, and it boasts an extensive client portfolio that includes the sector’s leading international players.

As in any sphere—whether personal or professional—change brings fluctuations and transformations that require commitment and tenacity; yet, it also prevents the evolutionary cycle from stalling and wards off the stagnation of complacency. When approached with the right temperament, boldness, and a wealth of expertise, change takes on a new form and fosters growth that is, by definition, both formative and positive. "Result" is not the most fitting term here; those who undergo such transformations recognize the enrichment the process leaves behind and understand that it paves the way for future successes. This latest transformation of the Dosi Group will be followed by others, all continuing to uphold values of excellence in managing relationships with clients and suppliers while ensuring professional integrity in business dealings. The Group will continue to distinguish itself through its forward-looking choices and its ability to meet diverse technical and market demands worldwide.

Our headquarters is located in the industrial district on the outskirts of Lugo di Ravenna, easily accessible by car in just half an hour from Bologna Airport.
