Manual pin interlocking unit for PVC and aluminum roller shutter profiles

Our company has successfully concluded a series of studies on the improvement of interlocking systems on PVC and Aluminum roller shutter profiles off the extrusion line. The result of this is our latest version of manual interlocking machine, an extremely precise, quick and reliable unit.

This pneumatic machine can be used for the safe interlocking of vented and non vented roller shutter profles, thus preventing that profles come apart during transport. The operator merely needs to insert the profile in the special guide, having care to see that the profile end touches the mechanical device. By pressing in the profile the unit carries out the following three operations at the same time:

1. the notch at the back of the profile;
2. the insertion of a stainless steel pin with the adequate dimensions in the profile hook (The pins are pointed in order to facilitate their penetration in the profile, thus guaranteeing a better grip in the course of time);
3. the transversal cut at the profile end to facilitate the profile insertion in the following profile.

The pins, which are packed in blisters to be inserted in the special vertical feeding unit, are fed automatically at each profle feeding.

Once the interlocking operation is over the operator extracts the profile from the guide and inserts it manually in the profle he had interlocked before with a light hand stroke. By repeating this operation a number of times it is possible to obtain a roller shutter of the required length.

The manual pin interlocking machine is fxed onto an aluminium base plate and is equipped with the necessary safety guard made of transparent Plexiglas which, at the same time, protects also the mechanical components.

Operator safety

We have given particular attention to the safety of the operator as well as to the protection of machine and interlocking set. As a matter of fact the machine is also equipped with the following devices:

• Manual device (push button) to bring the 3 cylinders back to their home position.
• Safety microswitch to prevent the insertion of an additional pin in the profile thus protecting the tool set.
